"Sonograms of the Mountain" was an open space where we witnessed a performative reading by artist Camilo Mutis Canal with sound accompaniment by artist Bruno Angelo, followed by a snack break evoking the Colombian Andes and a conversation focused on scientific mysticism, contemporary poetry, materials, organisms, and phenomena. A sensorial and narrative journey, this event was an invitation to navigate and imagine a mountain through phonemes, signals, sounds, myths, and obsolete scientific theories.

This program was built around three projects that investigate and intervene in archives of scientific expeditions carried out in Colombia: Páramo, La Miscelánea de Mutis, and 2n+1. This performative response used fables about the environment, the imitation of sounds with the voice, and visual translation through programming codes to explore the materiality of archives. Sonograms of the Mountain acted as a place from which to project new relationships between organisms as well as affinity with new geographies.
