Situated Ecologies: Alice Sharp (Invisible Dust) on exchanging methods between art and science

From 30 September to 4 October, the Institute for Postnatural Studies (IPS) hosts a research residency with Invisible Dust, the UK-based organization founded in 2009 by Artistic Director Alice Sharp. Invisible Dust develops ambitious collaborations between leading artists and scientists, working to inspire UK and global audiences to engage critically with pressing environmental issues — treating art not as illustration of climate data, but as a way of generating new thinking and public understanding around ecological crisis. Currently active in Brazil, Turkey, Finland, France and the UK, the organization has worked with artists including Elizabeth Price, Wangechi Mutu, Jeremy Deller and Raqs Media Collective, alongside scientific partners such as Oulu University, the Natural History Museum and Imperial College London.
